Hello, ladies and gentlemen. Over the past year, I have gone through a sufficient sample size to determine that most people don’t pay much attention, or perhaps not any attention at all, to any of the credit or early access rewards that patrons have until now been receiving.
It’s a great thing to have your financial support for the sake of developing TLDR, but the website, like any other big-scale project, also needs feedback, criticism and suggestions. Since people are largely uninterested in going through the hassle of making user registrations and testing features in their alpha and beta stages, I decided to make this blog more active and start publishing periodic status updates with development progress, goals and priorities.
In addition to the blogs which will be text-only reports, and in order to get the most engagement with you guys, I will be launching a series of development conferences, consisting of a 5-10 min sneak peak video showcasing an upcoming feature, which would hopefully provide a solid ground for discussion for all interested patrons.
As for the current rewards, the alpha and beta testing will remain on demand for interested individuals. However, the credits on the “patrons” page are not currently performing that well, with less than 0.1% of visitors visiting them. Therefore, there’s a big chance for me to disable the page and remove the reward for now. Albeit I still like the idea of having a credit board in the future with contributor nicknames being bigger proportionally to their pledge amount, but that’s something for another time.
