Neltharion the Earthwarder, later known as Deathwing the Destroyer, was the Dragon Aspect of the black Dragonflight, charged with protecting the earth and its deep places. He went mad during the War of the Ancients and sided with the Legion, betraying the other Dragon Aspects. He returned after the fall of the Lich King (year 28) to cause the Shattering event and try to take over Azeroth. He is a raid boss in Cataclysm (2010).
