The Old Gods are leviathans created by the void lords in order to corrupt a planet’s World Soul, utilizing the far reach of their burrowed tentacles. When the titan Pantheon shaped Azeroth countless ages ago, the planet was infested by four Old Gods who reigned over it with their insectoid armies, known as the Black Empire. The titans killed one and imprisoned the others before they left Azeroth.
