Ner’zhul was the chieftain of the Shadowmoon clan and a respected figure among the shamans of Draenor. Although he later relented, he was one of the two first orcs to embrace demonology and secretly allow the Legion entry to Draenor (the other being Gul’dan). The Legion-influenced orcs then ruined their homeworld of Draenor with demonic magic then invaded Azeroth through the Dark Portal (year 0). After their defeat there (year 8), the Legion turned Ner’zhul into the first Lich King in order to prepare their attack on Azeroth years later.
