Undercity was the capital of the Forsaken undead, who are part of the Horde. It was constructed within the royal crypts of the capital city of Lordaeron, the former capital of the humans of Lordaeron before the Scourge turned them into undead.

Uther the Lightbringer was the first human paladin and a co-founder of the order of the Knights of the Silver Hand. He was a Second War (year 8) veteran and had a significant role in the Scourge of Lordaeron, until his death on the hands of Prince Arthas Menethil (who later became the Lich King).
